Program Schedule

Work on EKTA had begun prior to the 2001 Gujarat Earthquake.  The project was re-launched again in the summer of 2001, before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Terrorism has become the focus of the world, and the root of terror is hate.  Three weeks prior to their first ever plane trip the 14 kids from EKTA have had to watch their city burn under the worst communal riots to hit India in over a decade.  Indian military have been deployed to the city of Ahmedabad to patrol and to keep the peace between the Hindu and Muslim community.  Each of these world events only underscores the importance of EKTA, the importance of the concept of UNITY.
